2 Former Oilers Get New Jersey Numbers With Blues
EDMONTON — Change is like death and taxes, it’s a guarantee.
For the Edmonton Oilers, change was inevitable this offseason. Whether it was trying to shore up the defensive depth, or the challenge of “bringing the band back,” something was going to change.
It was inevitable.
The dual offer sheets from the St. Louis Blues cauterized the wound of losing Warren Foegele, Vincent Desharnais and Ryan McLeod earlier in the offseason. With all of the fresh faces that were brought in at the top of the lineup, it was only a matter of time until a player or two were going to be forced out.

Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg are now members of the Blues. With that, comes new jersey numbers.
Broberg will have jersey number “6” with the Blues. Holloway will sport number “81.” With the Oilers the players last had numbers “86” and “55” respectively.
Joining a new team can be a challenging experience. Hopefully these young players can work themselves into big roles and experience success with their new team.
Oilers fans might be bitter about how everything transpired. At the end of the day, the players made the best decision with all of the information that they had. Signing those offer sheets could be the best decision of their lives. Time will tell if that comes to pass.
In the meantime, Oil Country should acquaint themselves with these new numbers, so they know who to look for the next time the Blues and Oilers play against each other.
