Kebab shop crowned ‘best in Scotland’ unveils revamp as punters queue out door
A POPULAR kebab spot crowned ‘best in Scotland’ has unveiled an exciting revamp.
Fans took to social media to express their delight at the mini-expansion as punters were filmed queuing out the door as they tried to get a glimpse.
Glasgow favourite Shawarma King revealed that it now has three shawarma spits at its King Street location.
And it hopes the addition of the new cooking equipment will let them serve their food to customers at a faster rate.
The video showed punters queuing out the door, waiting to be served, as it showcased the revamp.
Henrik Ahmed took to social media writing: “The best shawarma in Glasgow hands down”.
Another wrote: “The best.”
One user said: “Unbelievable.”
The King Street store was recently visited by Netflix star Phil Rosenthal for his series Somebody Feed Phil.
The series, fronted by the Everybody Loves Raymond star, sees the cheery presenter travel around the world, trying food in different cities.
The new season featured a full episode devoted to Glasgow.
And one of the many restaurants Phil visited was Shawarma King – which is situated under a railway bridge on King Street.
It comes after the family-owned business took home the ‘best kebab house in Scotland‘ for a third year running at the British Kebab awards this year.
We previously told how a top food critic also placed it among the best food spots in the city.
The popular takeaway spot has attracted visitors from all over the world – including some visitors who come to the city just to try it especially.
