Glasgow Indian restaurant crowned best in Scotland at national food awards
A hugely popular Glasgow Indian restaurant has been crowned as the best in Scotland at a national food awards ceremony.
There were several highlights for our city at last night’s Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards, with a number of winners and several food spots were also given ‘highly recommended’ titles.
And celebrating success today is one of our city’s top Indian eateries, Swadish, which took home the Best Indian Restaurant in Scotland award.
Sharing their excitement on social media on Friday, they said: “We are officially the best Indian restaurant in Scotland.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have won the Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality award.
“We thank you all who supported us to win this prestigious accolade last night. We couldn’t do this without your love and support.
“Love you all amazing people.”
Other notable successes for the hospitality sector in the Greater Glasgow area included McGoldrick’s Pool & Sports Bar in Rutherglen, which scooped the Best Sports Bar prize, The Clippens Inn in Linwood, which won Best Pub Award and Glasgow west end venue Record Factory, which took the gong for Best Late Night Venue.
The Auditorium at Oran Mor landed the Best Wedding Venue title, while Connolly’s celebrated Best Irish Bar success.
The Best World Cuisine winner was Glasgow’s Yokoso, while Houston-based takeaway Whispers won the coveted Best Takeaway prize.
Meanwhile, legendary industry stalwart Colin Barr took home a Lifetime Achievement award.
