Disturbing footage shows bloodied man lying in Glasgow street after stabbing

Disturbing footage has emerged of a blood-soaked man lying in a Glasgow street after a broad daylight stabbing.

While football fans celebrated across the city, emergency services were called to Saracen Street in Possilpark at around 5pm on Saturday, following reports of a blade attack.




According to local reports, the man was stabbed outside of a bookmakers. He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where his condition is unknown.

A shocking video clip shared on social media shows a man lying on the ground near a bus stop, covered in blood. Initial clips shared by horrified onlookers show an ambulance and a stretcher laid out nearby. Police officers can be seen taping off the street just yards away.

One eyewitness said: “It was a stabbing. It is absolutely devastating. Our children hang around these streets. I’ve lived here all my life and it doesn’t feel safe now.” Another added: “It’s shocking and heartbreaking.”

Police Scotland confirmed they launched a probe into the incident, and that Saracen Street remains locked down following the blade horror.

A spokesperson for the force said: “An investigation is under way after a man was stabbed in Saracen Street, Glasgow. Officers were made aware of the incident around 5pm on Saturday, May 18.

“Emergency services attended and the 27-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Saracen Street remains closed and enquiries are ongoing.”
