Inside The Buccaneers – a new Apple TV series mostly filmed in Scotland

Brand new period drama The Buccaneers had dropped on Apple TV+ and the show is set to rival Netflix favourite Bridgerton.

The Buccaneers follows five wealthy women who travel to London in the 1870s in a bid to bag themselves an aristocrat from the upper echelons of the capital’s social scene, and actually a lot of the historic looking scenes were filmed around Scotland.

The eight-part drama is inspired by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel of the same name, is written by series creator Katherine Jakeways.

The drama is fronted by Kristine Frøseth, best-known from Netflix’s The Society.

She stars alongside 13 Reasons Why’s Alisha Boe, Saved By the Bell’s Josie Totah, The Outpost’s Imogen Waterhouse and newcomer Aubri Ibrag. Rounding off the cast is Mia Threapleton and Christina Hendricks.

We take a look at a few snippets of the show which was filmed in iconic locations across Scotland.
