Road closed in both directions after ‘serious’ crash in early hours

A major road in East Ayrshire has been closed in both directions after a “serious” crash in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Shortly before 1am, Traffic Scotland reported that the A76 at Catrine had been closed in both directions due to an ongoing road traffic collision between the junction of B713 and the junction for Ochiltree.

Motorists are urged to use an alternative route and allow for extra travel time.

The road remained closed as of 6.32am on May 21.

It is not known if there were any injuries as a result of the collision.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
