Bojan Miovski Aberdeen vs Rangers fitness chances as Barry Robson offers update
Barry Robson kept his cards close to his chest as he responded to a question on Bojan Miovski’s chances of facing Rangers on Sunday.
The Macedonian, 24, was not in the Aberdeen squad this evening as his side secured a brilliant 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt at Pittodrie. It adds to their win over Hearts in Premiership action from last weekend and Robson was chuffed with his players for maintaining some momentum ahead of their biggest fixture of the campaign so far.
Miovski is a fitness worry having picked up a knock recently. And while Robbo will be praying his top striker is ready to go, he was giving absolutely nothing away when asked for an update.
Asked what chance Miovski has of playing in the Viaplay Cup Final, Robson told Sportsound: “We’ll have a look at him tomorrow morning.”
Robson was ecstatic at his stars for beating the German side at home this evening and he urged pundits and fans to give them the praise they deserve for another impressive Conference League showing as they fought on all fronts this term.
“Yeah I think so. I’ve said it before we’ve not deserved what we’ve put into this campaign, only lost twice, one here in the 92nd minute and could’ve picked up a point in Frankfurt. We’ve performed so well and I’m so glad we got the win tonight because we deserve to be on more points than we are in Europe.
“Scottish football should see that (pride) and I know we’ve got stick. People have given us stick and rightly so at times but it’s not easy fighting three fronts and I think we’ve done that really well. We’ve had seven out of eight away games. The emotion it takes out of you in these games. We’ve scored 10 goals in Europe and that’s not easy to do against that quality of opposition so for me I’m proud of the players for performing the way they did. That’s as good a result for Aberdeen as there’s been for a long time.”
