Hero RNLI crew rescue Scottish kayaker who went missing during falling tides

Lifeboat teams rescued a kayaker who went missing off the coast of Fife.

The terrifying incident saw a water sports enthusiast fail to come home from Newburgh where they had been kayaking. An urgent search was launched on Friday, reports the Daily Record.




The RNLI and the Scottish Ambulance Service were called to the scene to help track the kayaker down.

Luckily the kayaker was spotted after becoming stuck due to falling tides but it could have been a very different story.

RNLI Broughty Ferry shared the dangerous tale on their Facebook page and wrote: “Last night at 8.15pm both Broughty Ferry RNLI Lifeboats were launched in response to reports of a missing kayaker.

“The kayaker had been paddling between Newburgh to Balmerino and had been due back around 6.30pm. HM Coastguard – Angus and Dundee teams, Scottish Ambulance Service and Helicopter 199 from Prestwick were also tasked.
