Man and son, 12, missing after hillwalking in Scottish Highlands

A man and his 12-year-old son are missing after a hillwalking trip in the Scottish Highlands, police have said.

Tom Parry, 49, and his son Richie were due to return to their home in Cheshire on Wednesday after visiting Glen Nevis and Glencoe.

Police Scotland said their car was found in the Three Sisters car park in Glencoe, a village in western Scotland, where they had stopped on Tuesday to go hillwalking.

Insp Craig Johnstone said: “Tom and Richie have not returned home as planned and extensive searches and inquiries are ongoing in the Glencoe area to locate them as soon as possible.”

Parry is described as 1.78 metres (5ft 10in) and of medium build with brown and grey curly hair. Officers said he may be wearing a black and orange jacket.

Richie is about 1.5 metres (5ft), of slim build and with light-brown hair. He is thought to be wearing a bright orange jacket.

Police Scotland urged anyone with information to contact 101, quoting reference number 0960 of 29 May.
