8 Scotland training headlines as 5 stars missing and one pulls on mystery mask

The Scotland squad are officially together and getting down to hard work on the training ground as Euro 2024 edges closer.

The Tartan Army are ready to travel in their masses with a reported 200,000 punters travelling to Germany by trains, planes and automobiles as Steve Clarke and Co bid to create history at a major finals. But before jetting out the players have all hooked up for a pre-tournament camp with the provisional 28-man squad dropping to 26 following friendly clashes with Gibraltar and Finland next week.

The bulk of the squad took to the training pitch this morning for a light session including the likes of Ross McCrorie but Sky Sports report that Scott McKenna, John Souttar, Scott McTominay, Ben Doak and Stuart Armstrong were all absent. John Carver is due to speak to the media later today and will no doubt provide an update on those who missed out earlier today. McTominay was in action for Manchester United at the weekend as they won the FA Cup and it could be as simple as a few extra days rest.

Record Sport take a look at the best training pictures from Day One in camp.
