Scotland’s Euro HQ branded ‘shabby’, like a youth hostel with tasteless food
SCOTLAND’S Euro 2024 hotel has been panned for rude staff, poor cleaning and “tasteless food”, we can reveal.
The four-star Obermuhle, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, will host Steve Clarke’s men ahead of the opener against hosts, Germany, on June 14.
SFA chiefs chose the Bavarian spa site in a bid to boost our chances of making history by progressing from Group A.
Andy Robertson, John McGinn and Billy Gilmour will go to face Switzerland in Cologne on June 19 before taking on Hungary in the final group stage game in Stuttgart on June 23.
We told how visitors can take a ride on the Wankbahn, a cable car system that lifts riders 5,840ft to admire the ski town.
And we even took a look at the luxury suite Steve Clarke will stay in to mastermind our route out of the group stage for the first time.

But unimpressed guests have given the £1,100-a-night venue a battering — with one likening it to a “youth hostel”.
A series of recent reviews on the booking.com website also complained of small rooms and a gym lacking equipment for players wanting to work out.
The verdicts give a last-minute headache to Scottish FA chiefs, who want players to be as comfortable as possible in their out-of-season ski resort base, which has 90 rooms.
The Scottish Sun told yesterday how staff at the ski resort base were looking forward to hosting our national team. But a family who stayed there wrote: “The staff at reception are extremely rude.”
A German couple said: “What is sold as ‘deluxe rooms’ exude the charm of a youth hostel.
“The room was shabby and the food was mediocre.”
One Brazilian lady commented: “The front desk attendant, a German man, was super rude.”
Another woman moaned: “Our toilet was not cleaned.”
While a couple wrote: “The food looked good but was tasteless.”
An Italian man who visited in February wrote: “The evening meal was very, very poor. The fish tasted old and was prepared poorly, and the gnocchi was tough and hard.”
And a German woman said: “The gym was two treadmills, a few weights, two machines and a bike. Not even a yoga mat.”
The Obermuhle does have many complimentary reviews.
The hotel and SFA were both contacted for comment.
