Comedy talent on the ball with BBC Scotland Euros shows

A host of Scottish comedy talent will kick off BBC Scotland’s upcoming coverage of Euro 2024.

The corporation has revealed a range of entertainment programming to run alongside the tournament, which gets underway on 14 June when Scotland play hosts Germany in Munich.

The schedule includes a sketch show featuring the likes of Jonathan Watson, Karen Dunbar and Jack Docherty, who will reprise his Scot Squad character the Chief in a special skit.

Broadcaster Gordon Smart and actor Martin Compston will host a regular late night show throughout the group stages and there will be a special version of popular quiz, Breaking the News.

Still Game star Greg Hemphill, one of the names lined up for the All Star Euros Sketch Show, said viewers should “expect the unexpected” from the programme, which will air on BBC Scotland and via the iPlayer.

His former Still Game co-star Ford Kiernan will also appear as a brand new character.

Meanwhile, Karen Dunbar and Tom Urie will bring back their old Almost Angelic personas for football-themed songs.
