‘Avoid the area’ motorway junction closed in both directions after crash

A junction on the M9 has been closed in both directions after a crash with police urging drivers to avoid the area.

Officers confirmed a road collision took place around 5pm at junction 7 on Sunday with diversions put in place via the M876.

Emergency services are said to be in attendance with motorists asked to “avoid the area.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The M9 is closed in both directions near junction 7 following a crash that happened around 5pm on Sunday, June 2.

“There is a diversion via the M876.

“Emergency services are in attendance and road users are asked to avoid the area.

“Please follow Traffic Scotland for updates.”

A Traffic Scotland post read: “The M9 at junction 7 is currently closed in both directions due to a Police incident, motorists are advised to use an alternate route at this time.”
