Scottish fans’ weather warning after floods hit Germany before Euros

The Scotland football squad’s Alpine training camp for this month’s European championships has been placed under a warning for severe weather after “unprecedented” flooding in Germany.

The Foreign Office has changed its travel advice to ensure Scottish and English fans are aware of the dangers to travel.

A 42-year-old fireman died at the weekend when a rescue boat carrying three other colleagues capsized in the Bavarian town of Pfaffenbach an der Ilm, about 30 miles north of Munich.

On Sunday a body was discovered in floodwater in Schrobenhausen by crews searching for a 43-year-old woman who was reportedly trapped in a cellar beneath her house.

A train carrying 185 passengers was derailed on Saturday night as a landslide knocked carriages off a section of track.
