Anthony Ralston Thinks His Celtic Work Is Proving Dividends With Scotland | Latest Celtic News
Celtic’s Anthony Ralston is preparing for what could arguably be the biggest summer of his career.
Because of injuries to Aaron Hickey and Nathan Patterson, it looks like the 25-year-old will get the nod for Scotland at right-back at the European Championships.
Steve Clarke’s men take on Finland in a friendly this evening before kicking off the tournament next Friday night against hosts Germany.
Being in the lineup for the hotly-anticipated clash is something Ralston wouldn’t have even been considering a few months ago but now, it’s a realistic probability that he will get the nod.
Along with the defender, three Celts are in the Scotland squad that will head to Germany. Captain Callum McGregor, left-back Greg Taylor, and veteran winger James Forrest are all among the 26 players who are looking to make it out of Group A.
All four bhoys thoroughly deserve their inclusions, and Ralston thinks the work they do at club level benefits them massively at the current international camp.
“For me personally, I feel in a great place physically and mentally”, he said (PLZ Soccer).
“That’s just due to doing the work (at Celtic), and then when your opportunity comes at club level to play, you take it and that’s all I’ve tried to do throughout the season, and like you say, similar for James.”
