Survey shows whether England & Scotland fans will cheer each other at Euro 2024

New research has revealed that as much as 35% of Scots will be cheering for England – their Auld Enemy – at the Euros as well as their own team.

A new survey from Betfair has revealed that 35% of Scots will cheer on England as well as their own nation at Euro 2024 this summer. On the other hand, 65% of Scots refuse to cheer on another nation – especially their arch-rivals – and will focus on supporting Steve Clarke’s men as far as they can.




Meanwhile, a whopping 61% of English football fans will be cheering for their Northern neighbours this summer, as they admit they will cheer Scotland on as well as England at the Euros.

A lesser amount of people will focus on England alone (39%), which is a stark difference compared to Scottish fans.

When it comes to how far their team will go in the tournament, English fans are far more optimistic than Scots this time around. A whopping 25% of English football fans say their team will reach the final, meanwhile just 5% of Scottish fans believe their team could make it there.

A total of 44% of Scots believe they won’t make it out of the group stages, with 36% hoping they get to the round of 16. A smaller pool of Scottish fans (11%) think that they’ll make it to the quarter finals, with even less (4%) believing that they could make it to the final four.
