The ‘delightful’ Scots island guest house you can book for two at bargain price

A Scottish island guest house that has been described by visitors as “lovely” and “friendly” can currently be booked at a bargain price.

With June more than halfway done, time is of the essence if you are looking to book a summer staycation at a low cost. Even though July is just around the corner, there are thankfully still plenty of popular hotels and inns available at a major discount.

One of these is the Ardyne Guest House on the Isle of Bute, where a two-night stay for two people can be purchased for just £119 through voucher website Wowcher. This is a discount of 37 per cent off the standard price of £189.95.

Situated just outside of the heart of the picturesque Firth of Clyde island’s capital town of Rothesay, the guest house dates back to 1875. Retaining plenty of original character and charm, it is the perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of city living for a couple of days.

Among the amenities offered are Wi-Fi, free public parking nearby, outdoor furniture, baggage storage, and flatscreen TVs in guest rooms. The Wowcher deal also includes breakfast, as well as a bottle of wine upon arrival and a late checkout.

While at the Ardyne Guest House, there is plenty to see and do around Bute. From Rothesay’s rich history and treasure trove of cafés and pubs to historic and scenic sites such as Mount Stuart Castle and Ardencraig Gardens, there is plenty to keep you occupied during your staycation.

Looking at travel website Tripadvisor, the Ardyne Guest House is very popular amongst visitors. The guest house currently has a rare five-out-of-five rating based on 161 reviews.

One recent visitor wrote: “A very warm and friendly welcome from Katie and little Alfie throughout our stay! Superb hospitality.

“Lovely location, delicious breakfast (lots of choice) and the rooms are nice too — an extremely comfortable stay. Thank you, we had a great time and would definitely return.”

Meanwhile, a second echoed: “The host is a fantastic lady who is really accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast the best I’ve had in any B&B we’ve stayed in.

“Beautiful views looking out to see. Alfie the dog is a cute addition to the place and I was tempted to put him under my coat. All in all a fantastic stay and we will return in the summer.”

You can find the Ardyne Guest House deal on Wowcher’s website.
