Major Scottish tourist attraction named among top UK bucket list destinations
EDINBURGH Castle has been named one of the UK’s most popular bucket list landmarks.
The life insurance team at Compare the Market analysed the number of Google searches and Instagram posts for popular UK destinations and landmarks, revealing the top locations.
With 165,000 average monthly Google searches and 729,003 hashtags on Instagram, Edinburgh Castle was in ninth place.
Big Ben is the most popular landmark in the UK with 246k monthly Google searches and 3.5 Instagram hashtags, followed by the London Eye (3.5 million Instagram hashtags) and Tower Bridge (2.8 million hashtags)
UK landmarks outside of London also making the top 10 include Stonehenge (246k monthly searches), Snowdonia (135k monthly searches) and Windsor Castle (201k searches per month)
The Greek isle of Santorini is the most popular bucket list destination in the world, earning 1.83 million Google searches per month.
Anna McEntee from the life insurance team at Compare the Market said: “Creating a bucket list, even just for the year ahead, is a fantastic way to form exciting new experiences in your life.
“By visualising your goals and putting them on paper, you’re more likely to take action and make them a reality.
“Start by thinking about experiences that bring you joy, challenge you, or simply spark your curiosity.
“Then, prioritise your list based on feasibility and budget.
“Remember, a bucket list shouldn’t be a source of stress, but a source of motivation.”
It comes as Europe’s ‘biggest inflatable’ park is set to return to Scotland this summer.
The huge pop-up ‘Inflatable Fun City’ promises plenty of fun and laughter will visit Victoria Park in Glasgow‘s west end from Saturday July 6 to Sunday July 21.
They’ll be 2,000ft of inflatable slides, obstacle courses and bouncy castles.
There is also a new giant adventure area themed around the Amazon rain forest for youngsters to enjoy.
