Musa excited by Scottish challenge – Hearts

Musa Drammeh can’t wait to get stuck into the action of Scottish football after completing a permanent transfer from Sevilla.

The Spanish-Gambian forward swapped the surroundings of the La Liga giants for a spot in Steven Naismith’s squad for the next three seasons.

Developed and educated in the technical style of Spanish football, Musa is excited at the direct style of football in Scotland, believing it best suits his own attributes as a pacy attacker.

“I am delighted and very happy to be here,” he told Hearts TV.

“To sign with this club is a dream for me and I hope this move will go very well. I had a lot of offers when I was at Sevilla, but after talking with the coach, he explained to me the project here.

“Alongside, I really like Edinburgh and Scotland, and that was some of the reasons behind my decision to come here.

“I had a great time at Sevillia, there are good people there and the club will always hold a place in my heart. I learned so many things there that I carry now; how to jump and win headers, how to find space and attack the defence.

“I think the talents that I have will help in Scottish football, and, of course, I like to score goals! In Spain, the football is all about tiki-taka, but Scotland will be a better option for me.”

With the men in maroon set to return to training this week, a quickfire return to Spanish territory awaits Musa as Hearts jet off soon for a week’s training in Tenerife.

The 22-year-old is looking forward to a trip on home soil, as well as a chance to bond with his new teammates.

“I am looking forward to what’s next,” Musa added.

“We are going back to my country for the pre-season. I am excited to be there with my new teammates and start playing alongside them.

“I am feeling good, and ready to start right now.”
