Moment bus driver punches passenger on crutches – but many say it was justified
THIS is the shocking moment a bus driver was forced to punch a passenger on crutches after he was attacked at a Scots bus station.
The scenes unfolded on Saturday at Glenrothes Bus Station in Fife where the unnamed man on crutches was allegedly asked to get off the bus by the driver when he was found littering on the vehicle.
It is claimed the crutch-wielding man became angry and hit the driver with one of his walking aids, causing him to bleed from his ear.
The alleged attack is understood to have taken place off-camera before the person taking the video started to record.
But the busman retaliated after it appeared the passenger returned to continue confronting him.
Video footage recorded by onlookers from the top deck of a nearby bus shows the driver’s subsequent response to the man’s continued aggression.
The driver can be seen standing by the back of the vehicle when the man on crutches, having been asked to leave, advances angrily towards him.
The man gets right up to the driver’s face and looks down at a device in his hand as the youths watching on exclaim: “Oh his ear’s bleeding.”
The driver then jabs the man in the face, catching him off balance and causing him to stagger backwards and fall to the ground.
The driver then retreats through the open emergency door of the bus and closes it behind him.

The man then whacks the window with his crutch in vain before angrily moving around to the front of the vehicle.
However, the bus driver seems uninterested in escalating the conflict any further and it remains unclear what, if any, action followed as the cameraman’s bus pulls away.
The footage was shared to Facebook page Fife Jammer Locations on Saturday afternoon with the caption: “Glenrothes bus station.
“Mad out of control degenerate causing chaos on the bus and in the station. Man’s within his rights.”
The video received over 960 likes and more than 530 comments from social media users who supported the bus driver’s actions.
Many claimed the man on crutches assaulted the driver first, offering reasoning behind the sucker punch.
One user said: “The guy with the crutches clearly is intimidating the driver and also is very much in the driver’s face, that is called self defence.
“If you feel threatened, then it is warranted.”
Another added: “Video is a bit misleading.
“Given that he assaulted the driver previously, you can’t blame the driver for his response.”
A third commented: “F**k around, find out.”
A fourth replied: “Oh my, I’m glad I wasn’t there.”
Police officers were called to the incident and an ambulance crew treated a man for minor injuries.
