Huge US rapper cancels Scottish show just a week before gig

A POPULAR US rapper has cancelled her upcoming show in Glasgow just one week before her show.

The star’s UK tour was thrown into chaos after it was rocked by poor ticket sales as thousands of seats remained available to buy.

Megan Thee Stallion is currently lined up to play three of the biggest UK arenas after cancelling her gig at Glasgow’s Hydro.

She is still scheduled to play London’s The O2 Arena, Birmingham’s Utilita Arena and Europe’s biggest indoor music venue, the Co-Op Live in Manchester.

The Co-Op Live holds a whopping capacity of 23,500 but it appears that Megan has come nowhere near close to filling the venue despite just over a week until her concert on 5 July with scores of tickets available.

Ticket-selling websites have even revealed that entire blocks have failed to sell a single seat at the brand new Manchester venue.

Megan’s dates in Glasgow, London and Birmingham have equally failed to shift a high amount of tickets.

A source told The Sun: “It is fair to say that demand for Megan’s Hot Girl Summer tour hasn’t been as high as had hoped.

“Fans have already begun to notice that thousands of tickets are still available for the UK run even with just over a week until the first gig.

“It is especially embarrassing for Megan and her team given that her rival Nicki Minaj played the exact same venues last month with each selling out including having a full house for the Manchester venue not once but twice.”

The American rapper’s decision to cancel her show at the OVO Hydro on July 4 has thrown the remainder of her UK tour into chaos.

Fans have been left “gutted” by the rapper’s decision to not play her Hot Girl Summer tour in Scotland.

On social media, fans shared an email that stated that they would receive an automatic refund for their ticket purchase.

One wrote on X: “Why has the Glasgow show been cancelled for other US shows? Gutted.”

Glasgow fans took to social media to share their frustration with one person writing on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Why has the Glasgow show been cancelled for other US shows? Gutted.”

Ticketmaster updated the event page to confirm the event was no longer being staged, with the venue also removing it from its website.

Megan Thee Stallion has added extra dates on July 2 and 3 to the US leg of her tour in Atlanta.
