Ange tells Scotland the key aspect that will see them improve on big stage

Ange Postecoglou knows Scotland will be ‘hugely disappointed’ with their Euro 2024 exit – but he reckons ONE key aspect will see them become successful in future tournaments.

Andy Robertson and his team-mates got hit with a last-gasp sucker punch as they pushed forward in search of a winner with Kevin Csoboth netting TEN minutes into added-time. The players, staff and fans all in attendance were left speechless and shell-shocked as the journey ended after just three games.

Postecoglou told STV: “They will be hugely disappointed. I thought there was an opportunity for them with the way the group was. They had some really good form leading into it in terms of qualifying for the tournament and real impetus with Steve Clarke in charge.

“There is still quality players in there. Players playing in the English Premier League and at a good level. I think they will be really disappointed they didn’t get through. But part of that is the experience of being back in a major tournament and understanding what it takes.

“That is what I think you will find in coming tournaments and Euros. These countries we are saying are small, the more experience they get the more they will come through. And it showcases their talent as well. It’s an opportunity for them to potentially move on to bigger leagues.”
