The ‘lovely’ Scottish Isle of Mull getaway for two you can book for half price
A hotel on the Isle of Mull that visitors have called “stunning” can now be booked for up to half price.
With the summer season well and truly underway, many Scots will have already sorted their summer plans. Don’t worry if you have left things until the last minute, though, as there are still plenty of bargains out there — if you know where to look.
At the moment, an overnight stay for two at the Western Isles Hotel in the island’s picturesque capital town of Tobermory is available for £119 through voucher website Wowcher. This marks a discount of 51 per cent off the standard cost of £245.
Boasting a fabulous location by the scenic Tobermory Harbour, all of the rooms at the hotel include amenities such as Wi-Fi access, flat screen TVs, and room service. Meanwhile, the Wowcher deal also includes a bottle of complementary house wine as well as a full breakfast.
There is also the option to spend two nights at the Western Isles Hotel for an overall cost of £279, which marks a discount of 48 per cent. In this case, a dining allowance of £25 per person at the hotel’s restaurant is also included — with highlights of the menu including West Coast mussels, Arctic Snow Crab, Isle of Mull monkfish, and sticky toffee fig pudding.
Most famous for being the backdrop of the iconic children’s television series Balamory, Mull is an ideal spot for a quick romantic getaway this summer. From the gorgeous Aros Park just a five-minute walk from the hotel to attractions such as Duart Castle and the Tobermory Distillery, there is something for everyone.
Looking at travel website Tripadvisor, the Western Isles Hotel is popular amongst guests. It has an average rating of four out of five based on 1,081 reviews.
One recent visitor shared: “Went to the hotel with my son for a week. Deliberately booked top floor, sea view — room was great, the shower was so big it had an in and out entrance.
“The hotel is a bit quirky but it’s had some money spent on it, and the conservatory (is where you dine and it hosts the bar) is to die for, the views are spectacular. There’s also a roof top bar.”
