Hilarious moment American nuns try Buckfast during visit to Scotland
A GROUP of American nuns were treated to a sip of BUCKFAST during their visit to Scotland.
The group were given the special treat after they crossed the Atlantic to meet up with religious pals.
As they arrived they were given the chance to try one of Scotland’s favourite drinks.
The iconic tonic was originally made by Monks at Buckfast Abbey in Devon.
And now it was the turn of some more holy figures to take a sip of the popular bevvy.
A video posted to Catholic media platform Sancta Familia TV showed the moment they swapped communion wine for fortified wine.
Being in Scotland, one sister curiously asked: “Is it Whisky?”
But a voice off camera told her: “No it’s tonic wine.”
A second nun laughed: “The cameras are off right.”
One sister chimes in saying: “We have to drink it.”

While a Friar with the group jokingly replied: “As a sacrifice.”
The holy group then took turns trying shots of Buckfast and giving their verdict.
As one sister says “moment of truth in a relationship” as she takes her shot.
Giving her verdict, one of the nuns took a sip and didn’t appear to like the taste, saying “Well it wouldn’t really be my choice.”
While one of her fellow sisters joked: “Maybe after the bottle it will taste better.”
A second was slightly more impressed, saying: “Not bad.”
A third member of the group was surprised it wasn’t like another popular drink.
She said: “I was thinking it’d be like Jagermeister but its not really, its more fruity. Tutti Frutti.”
But one sister was a massive Buckfast fan, saying: “I like it, I like it.”
The Friar was also a fan, saying “I like it, its good” and gave a funny toast before taking his shot.
He said: “Here’s to those who wish us well and all the rest should go not to heaven.”

A fifth nun reckoned Bucky tastes like “cough medicine” and referenced a classic comedy sketch.
She said: “It tastes like cough medicine. I feel like I’m on the Lucille Ball show. I like it.”
