Albion Rrahmani Rangers transfer latest as Neil Lennon gives thoughts

Neil Lennon is confident Albion Rrahmani will remain at Rapid Bucharest despite interest from Rangers and other clubs.

The Kosovan striker had a prolific season for the Romanian side last campaign and will likely have a few options if he opts to move on. Gers are one of the clubs believed to be taking a close look as Cyriel Dessers could well move on to leave a striking vacancy as Phiilippe Clement reshapes his squad.




Sparta Prague and Bologna are said to be keeping tabs too though and Gers could face stiff competition if they end up making a move. Rrahmani is a key man at Rapid after scoring 19 goals in 30 appearances last season and they would love to keep hold of him for now.

Ironically, Celtic legend Lennon has just taken over as Rapid manager. He’s previously talked about the prospect of hanging on to his star man and remains confident of doing so.

Speaking after a friendly win over Maribor, he said: “I am so pleased with Albion. I remain hopeful he will stay with Rapid for another season. Everyone is watching him, the press are talking about him, but his attitude was great.”
