Tragedy as 27-year-old Scottish driver pronounced dead after police chase

A 27-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene of a fatal crash.

The incident took place on the M9 between the junctions of 8 and 9 in the Stirling area on Sunday July 7 at 11.50am.




Police say that a white Vauxhall Corsa was travelling southbound on the M9 and came off the road and landed down an embankment.

Officers say that prior to the collision the car had been involved in a police pursuit.

Two male passengers in the car, aged 19 and 20, were taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital to be checked over.
