Scottish driver charged after wheel comes off car in barrier crash

A car was found crashed into a barrier in Fife, with one of its wheels fallen off.

The incident happened on Old Perth Road in Cowdenbeath on July 7 as emergency services rushed to the scene, reports the Daily Record.



Images show the aftermath of the one vehicle crash, with a tyre sitting a few feet away from the car.

Officers confirmed a woman has been arrested and charged with road traffic offences.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.20pm on Sunday, 7 July, 2024, police received a report of a one-vehicle road crash on Old Perth Road in Cowdenbeath.

“Emergency services attended and a 54-year-old woman was arrested and charged with road traffic offences.

“She is subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.”
