Latest Rangers transfer news as exit imminent and Ryan Jack proposal ‘rejected’
Rangers have agreed to let go Robby McCrorie as the goalkeeper closes in on a move to Kilmarnock.
Gers boss Philippe Clement has sanctioned a switch following talks with the homegrown shotstopper earlier in the year. McCrorie has spent the majority of his career watching on from the sidelines at Ibrox, deputising for Jack Butland and Allan McGregor. Now 26, the academy graduate made it clear he wanted to pursue his career elsewhere in search of regular first-team minutes.
Now, it’s believed the ex-Livingston, Queen of the South and Morton loanee will kickstart his career at Rugby Park as he prepares to pen a two-year deal. McCrorie is expected to fly back from Rangers’ pre-season training base in the Netherlands tonight before undergoing a medical and thrashing out personal terms.
He’ll become the sixth player to have departed Ibrox this summer, following Jon McLaughlin, Borna Barisic, John Lundstram, Kemar Roofe and Ryan Jack out the door. Meanwhile, Standard Liege have reportedly rejected the chance to sign free agent Jack.
The Scotland international, 32, was released earlier this summer after seven years in Govan and reports in Belgium claim he was offered to Standard in a bid to resurrect his career abroad.
But Croatian manager Ivan Leko has decided not to explore the deal for the experienced midfielder, instead turning his attention to former Bochum star Christophe Antwi-Adjei and ex-Ghent player Dylan Bronn, who are also unattached.
