Cyriel Dessers breaks Rangers transfer exit silence as striker confirms interest

Cyriel Dessers has revealed he hopes to stay at Rangers amid mounting transfer interest.

The striker, 29, has been linked in recent weeks with PAOK as well as Cagliari with his club hopeful of earning more cash than the £4.5million they spent on him last summer. Dessers hit 22 goals in his first campaign at Ibrox despite criticism over his lack of finishing touch at points during the campaign.




Now the big Nigerian has addressed the speculation himself as he continues to be linked with an exit by admitting he’d prefer to remain in Glasgow as he’s enjoying his time pulling on the blue jersey.

“I am very happy here, so I would like to stay,” Dessers told Ziggo Sport Voetbal. “There is some interest, but my intention is to stay and then we will see what happens.”

Dessers’ admission has come as manager Philippe Clement explained that the club would have to sell players before they buy more this summer amid an overhaul.
