Mets trading Josh Walker to Pirates

The Mets are trading left-handed reliever Josh Walker to the Pittsburgh Pirates, per multiple reports.

In return, the Mets are receiving left-handed pitcher Nicolas Carreno, who was pitching for the Pirates in the DSL, reports Robert Murray of FanSided.

In parts of two seasons for New York, Walker had a 6.45 ERA (4.50 FIP) and 1.65 WHIP in 22.1 innings over 24 appearances.

He appeared in 10 games this season, pitching to a 5.11 ERA (3.89 FIP) while striking out 8.0 batters per nine and walking 4.4 per nine.
