NFL training camp notepad: Lots to be excited about with Texans’ offense, and not just C.J. Stroud

Yahoo Sports Senior NFL Reporter Charles Robinson is out on the road covering training camps. Today’s stop: the Houston Texans.

Buy the C.J. Stroud MVP heat. He worked with skill position teammates this offseason in Houston, Los Angeles and Miami, and everyone showed up to camp synchronized. Offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik and Stroud are priming a monster second season.

Second-round cornerback Kamari Lassiter is running with the first team defense and belongs. You can see why the staff is so excited about him. His reps battling against Tank Dell in particular were a joy to watch.

Edge rusher Will Anderson muscled up. He went from playing in the 240s last season to checking in at 263 for camp, hoping to play stronger deeper into the season. We’ll see if the added weight impacts his explosiveness.

There’s a wealth of riches on offense — to the point that it’s hard to know who will consistently eat. But I believe this: If Nico Collins gets 150 targets, he will land on some All Pro ballots.

The Stefon Diggs honeymoon is in full bloom. He’s constantly moving, talking and engaging. He has a vibration to him that clearly injects juice into practice.

Left guard Kenyon Green had a few blocks that throttled guys in 11 on 11. It’s a big year for the former first-round draft pick. But he looks healthy and angry in his blocks.
