Flyers Rising Star Should Reach New Heights

The Philadelphia Flyers had many feel-good stories from their 2023-24 season. One of them was 2020 first-round pick Tyson Foerster’s emergence as a full-time NHL talent. The 22-year-old became a solid offensive weapon for Philadelphia, posting new career highs with 20 goals, 13 assists, and 33 points. Now, his goal will be to build off his breakout year in 2024-25.

Foerster showed plenty of promise last season, especially with his goal-scoring. Because of this, it is hard not to believe he can hit an even higher level next season. Now that he is a bit more adjusted to the sport’s most competitive league, the Alliston, Ontario native’s offense has a real chance of improving.

When looking at the Flyers’ projected lineup, Foerster has a good shot of playing top-six minutes. In addition, due to his scoring touch, he will undoubtedly get reps on the Flyers’ power play in 2024-25. Having these roles should do Foerster a favor when it comes to his offensive game.

However, besides having the potential to hit a new level offensively, Foerster has other elements of his game that are hard not to like. The 6-foot-2 forward showed last season that he isn’t afraid to play with a bit of an edge, as evidenced by his 102 hits. Thus, besides having skill, he also has the potential to make an impact with his gritty style of play next season and onward.

Overall, Foerster is one of the most fascinating players from the Flyers’ roster to watch next season. If he takes another big step offensively, he could emerge as a crucial part of the Flyers’ roster moving forward.
