Police ask for help in search for missing man

Police are searching for a man after “serious concerns” were raised for his welfare.

Avon and Somerset Police has appealed for help to trace Michael Wheeler, 37, of Yeovil.

Officers have been unable to find him and believe he has not been home or in contact with anyone since 24 August.

As part of the investigation, searches have been carried out at Ham Hill, Stoke sub Hamdon, and addresses in Yeovil and Crewkerne.

Officers said Mr Wheeler’s car was found abandoned in Yeovil, he has not been in touch with family or friends and has missed several regular appointments.

He also failed to appear at a court hearing for a motoring offence, which resulted in him being wanted.

Mr Wheeler is described as a white male, with grey hair and about 6ft tall.

Police are asking anyone who has seen him to get in touch.
