Rangers Place Chad Ruhwedel On Waivers With Emergence Of Victor Mancini

The New York Rangers have placed defenseman Chad Ruhwedel on waivers according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Ruhwedel has been a healthy scratch five out of the six games the Rangers have played thus far.

The emergence of Victor Mancini forced New York to make a tough decision and it looks like that choice has been made with the waiving of Ruhwedel.

The Rangers acquired Ruhwedel from the Pittsburgh Penguins at the NHL Trade Deadline last season. However he only played a total of five games for the team during the 2023-24 campaign.

If Ruhwedel happens to clear waivers he will be assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.
