Carolina Hurricanes @ Seattle Kraken: Lineups, Game Preview and How to Watch

What – Game 7 (4-2-0)
When – 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26
Where – Climate Pledge Arena; Seattle, WA
How to Watch – FanDuel Sports Network South

The Carolina Hurricanes take on the Seattle Kraken (4-3-1) tonight in their penultimate game of their season-long six-game road trip.

The Canes are coming off of two straight wins in Alberta (3-2 OTW over Edmonton and 4-2 W over Calgary) and they’ll look to add a fourth road win to their belt.

The Hurricanes have continued to see success on special teams since hitting the road and their top players are really standing out, especially Sebastian Aho and Martin Necas who lead the team in points.

The Kraken have lost their last two but have seen a big uptick in their scoring rate from last season. Whether or not that trend continues though we’ll have to wait and see.

The team has been banking on the goaltending of newly extended goaltender Joey Daccord who has been the only consistently good netminder for Seattle so far.

Streaks

  • Sebastian Aho (2g, 5a) and Shayne Gostisbehere (4g, 2a) have points in five straight games.

  • Martin Necas (3g, 3a) has back-to-back multi-point games.

Milestone Watch

  • Sebastian Aho is one goal away from tying Ron Francis for the franchise record in game-winning goals (57).

  • Jordan Martinook is two points shy of 200 career points.

  • If Brent Burns scores tonight, he will have scored a goal against all 32 franchises.

  • Martin Necas scored career goal 100 in Thursday’s win over Calgary.

  • Jordan Martinook played in his 400th game as a Hurricane on Thursday.

  • Pyotr Kochetkov registered his first career NHL point on Thursday.

Game Notes

  • Carolina has an all-time record of 4-2-0 against Seattle.

  • Last season, the Canes went 1-1-0 against the Kraken.

  • The only cross-team connection is that Kraken GM Ron Francis was also the Hurricanes general manager from 2014-2018, but most notably was a franchise icon having had 1,175 points in 1,186 games with the club. His number ’10’ is retired by the team.

  • Sebastian Aho (1g, 5 pts in four games), Shayne Gostisbehere (1g, 7pts in five games) and Martin Necas (3g, 6pts in six games) are point-per-game players against Seattle.
