Red Wings Emergency Recall Surging Goalie
The more, the merrier.
But what if you have enough already? Do things stay merry?
That question should be answered soon for the Detroit Red Wings. Earlier today, they announced the recall of Ville Husso.
Husso had been playing for the Grand Rapids Griffins in the AHL.
After three games in the AHL, the Red Wings have decided to have Husso join the fray. In those games, he posted a 2-0-0 record, a 1.23 goals against average (GAA), and a .958 save percentage (SV%).
Husso struggled in his only NHL start this season. On October 10th he allowed four goals on 14 shots, giving him a putrid 9.42 GAA, and a .714 SV%.

Because this move comes with the asterisk, under emergency conditions, that suggests that the health of Alex Lyon or Cam Talbot is uncertain for tonight’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
More information should come when the Red Wings take to the ice for their morning skate in Toronto.
