Ospreys sign Wales-qualified Kiwi Cornelius

Ospreys have signed Wales-qualified New Zealander Ieuan Cornelius.

A utility back, Cornelius was born in Wellington, but spent some of his childhood in Swansea, with his father being from Morriston.

The majority of the 19-year-old’s playing career was spent in Australia where he was part of the Queensland Reds setup and most recently Bond University.

Cornelius was coached by All Blacks legend Rico Gear at Under-20 level and for the men’s elite sevens.

“Being here, back home with the Ospreys, feels right,” said Cornelius.

“I get to train amongst some of the best players in the world. The likes of Jac Morgan, Dewi and Beardy, it’s an awesome experience.”
