Airport Retail Enterprises to debut in Scotland with three F&B venues at Edinburgh Airport
UK. Airport Retail Enterprises (ARE) is to introduce three new airside food & beverage venues at Edinburgh Airport. The concepts – ARE’s first in a Scottish airport – are PizzaExpress, Korean restaurant Seoul Bird and sports bar Icons.
Well-known UK high street pizzeria name PizzaExpress will occupy a space after airport security. This follows a recent announcement from ARE that it is to open a first airport venue from the brand at London Gatwick Airport.
Seoul Bird will serve Korean fried chicken, gourmet burgers and rice bowls. This will be the brand’s first airport franchise and its first venue in Scotland.
Icons is a new sports bar concept from ARE which will feature decoration celebrating some of Scotland’s and the world’s greatest sports stars.
The new concessions announcement follows the recent re-opening of Starbucks in Edinburgh Airport’s departures area as part of terminal refresh project.
Edinburgh Airport Chief Commercial Officer (Non-Aero) Gail Taylor said: “Enjoying a meal or toasting a special occasion is the perfect way to start off that trip or holiday for many of our passengers and it’s important we offer them as much choice as possible.
“Welcoming new names and new possibilities to our passengers is something we are always keen to do and bringing PizzaExpress, Icons and Seoul Bird to Edinburgh Airport is exciting for all of us. Work will begin later this year with the new outlets opening in 2025.
“We’re always looking to make improvements where we can, and we have a number of other exciting announcements to make in the months ahead as we continue to cater for our passengers.”
ARE Director John Butts commented: “We are thrilled to be entering the Scottish market with these exciting food & beverage opportunities at Edinburgh Airport. We have two fantastic brand partners in PizzaExpress and Seoul Bird and are very proud to unveil our very own sports bar concept in Icons.
“This development is another major milestone in the growth of ARE in the UK market.”
Fit out work for the concessions is due to start later this year.
