Alex Salmond’s plea to BA to find ‘lucky’ Scotland strip lost at Munich airport
Alex Salmond has issued a plea to British Airways to find his ‘lucky’ Scotland strip, after his luggage was lost at Munich airport.
The Alba party leader and former First Minister travelled to Germany on Thursday with the Tartan Army to cheer on the national squad at the opening game of the Euros on Friday.
But he was left fuming after finding that his baggage with the John McGinn no.7 strip was missing, warning it could spell ‘disaster for Scotland’.
The former First Minister said the team have been unbeaten whenever he’s worn it.
He took to X on Thursday morning with a plea to the airline to find the strip, which was shared by the Tartan Army.
He said: “At luggage belt in Munich with Tartan Army, then, “Disaster for Scotland”. My lucky John McGinn No. 7 Salmond strip has been lost by BA – the world’s favourite airline! Everything else replaceable but Scotland are unbeaten when I’ve had that top on. Tartan Alert – find that XXL”
British Airways has been contacted for comment.
