Bob MacIntyre heads home to Scotland to party hard with girlfriend
Bob MacIntyre has told CBS reporter Amanda Balionis he will be immediately heading home to Oban, Scotland, to party hard with his girlfriend, family and friends after landing his maiden title on the PGA Tour.
MacIntyre, 27, carded a gutsy final-round 68 to see out a deserved one-shot victory at the RBC Canadian Open.
The victory was extra sweet for the popular Scot as he had his father Dougie on the bag for the first time in competition since Q-School in 2018.
MacIntyre has openly admitted in recent months his struggle to deal with PGA Tour life, and after chopping and changing his caddie, he decided to phone up his Dad to come and join him on his bag last weekend.
The win marks MacIntyre’s first on the PGA Tour, in his first full season on the circuit, as well as the third of his pro career having already won twice on the DP World Tour.
The European Ryder Cup hero becomes just the sixth Scot to win in the modern era on the PGA Tour.
In one clip on Sunday night, MacIntyre was seen phoning home to his mother and telling her the ‘mortgage was paid’.
MacIntyre won a career-best $1.7m first prize for winning the 2024 RBC Canadian Open.
MacIntyre, who now vaults from 76th to 39th in the Official World Golf Rankings, has earned an invite in this week’s Memorial Tournament at famed Muirfield Village after topping the latest Aon Swing 5 Rankings.
The Memorial, hosted by record 18-time major champion Jack Nicklaus, marks the seventh of eight $20m signature events on the PGA Tour in 2024.
When pressed by CBS’ Amanda Balionis as to whether his Dad Dougie will remain on the bag for a busy upcoming summer schedule, which also includes the US Open next week, MacIntyre replied his father will take a well deserved holiday while he and his girlfriend Shannon head home to party.
“No, Dad is on the flight home on Monday, and I think me and my girlfriend might go home on Monday as well and just have a hell of a party back home,” an emotional MacIntyre told Balionis on the 18th green.

Who is Bob MacIntyre’s girlfriend?
Bob MacIntyre’s girlfriend is Shannon Hartley.
They have kept their relationship out of the spotlight but it is understood they have been dating since at least 2023.
Shannon was seen by MacIntyre’s side at the 2023 Open Championship, his debut at the 2023 Ryder Cup at Marco Simone in Rome, and most recently his maiden PGA Tour victory at the RBC Canadian Open in June 2024.
