Body recovered from Scots river as emergency services race to scene
A BODY has been found in a Scots river.
Emergency crews were called to the Gordon Mills area of Aberdeen earlier this afternoon.
Officers said a report was made around 2.10pm following a concern for a person.
A heavy police presence has been in the area for several hours.
Mercy crews were spotted at Diamond Bridge on the River Don which was closed to the public.
Numerous officers were spotted wearing rescue gear and specialist equipment for dealing with a water rescue.
A body was later recovered from the water.
Cops say enquires are still ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.10pm on Tuesday, 16 July, we received a report of a concern for person in the Gordon Mills Road area of Aberdeen.
“Emergency services attended and a body was recovered from the water. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
