1. Plans to overhaul derelict land in central Glasgow to provide hundreds of new homes and student beds have been approved.

Summix Capital’s multimillion-pound regeneration of land at Central Quay is expected to support up to 650 construction jobs.

Summix Capital’s plans for Central Quay will provide private flats, student accommodation and retail and commercial space

The development will offer 409 private flats, a 934-bed student accommodation building and a mix of retail and commercial space.

There will also be roof gardens, play areas, a public plaza and use of renewable energy, including solar and air source heat pumps, across the project.
