Che Adams transfer fight as foreign option rivals Wolves for Scotland striker

Che Adams is faced with a decision on his future with Torino joining Wolves in the race for the Scotland striker.

The free agent star looked set for a return to the Premier League even if not with old club Southampton, from where he moved on at the end of last season despite their promotion. Wolves have long been credited with an interest along with Everton and Nottingham Forest but it looked like he was set to work with Gary O’Neil.

However, they may not have the free run at him they thought with the Serie A side now keen on the 28-year-old’s signature, according to the Sun. Former Chelsea assistant manager Paolo Vanoli is now the manager of the Turin outfit and wants Adams to link up with Duvan Zapata up front.

A favourite of Steve Clarke’s, the frontman started every game at Euro 2024 but failed to find the net as the team slumped to three disappointing results and ultimately crashed out at the first hurdle. That took him to 33 caps after Clarke persuaded him to switch to the dark blue of Scotland.

He has been with Saints for five years, scoring 41 goals in 164 league games and 25 of those have come in the Premier League. Wolves previously offered £18million for the player last summer after Southampton’s relegation but it was knocked back before Adams went on to score 16 to help them back up.

The Midlands side hoped to then land him for free this summer but Torino could pip them to the post. It’s believed talks are planned with the Italians.
