Cole Palmer accomplished an incredible feat on Saturday, scoring four goals in one half in Chelsea’s 4-2 win over Brighton. Palmer becomes the first player in Premier League history to accomplish the first-half haul.

Palmer started things off with a goal in the 21st minute, before scoring again with a penalty in the 28th. The 22-year-old midfielder then picked up the hat trick in the 31st minute off of a stunning free kick outside the box.

Just 10 minutes later, Palmer scored again, with his shot veering just past the goalkeeper’s fingertips.

The span of time from Palmer’s first goal to his fourth was just 20 minutes. He nearly scored a fifth in the 51st minute, but it went just wide, leading to a relatively quiet second half.

Brighton got two first-half goals of its own, with a goal from Georginio Rutter in the seventh minute and Carlos Baleba scoring in the 34th. But it would not be enough to stop Chelsea from taking the 4-2 win.

This is Palmer’s second season with Chelsea after joining the team in 2023. Last season, he scored 25 goals in 45 games across all competitions.
