Bergeron joins the Monsters after having served as the head coach of Miami (Ohio) for the past five seasons.
A product of Wallaceburg, Ont., Bergeron enjoyed a seven-year pro career before getting into coaching. Getting his start behind the bench as an assistant coach with Miami (Ohio) in 2000, Bergeron spent 10 seasons in that role before getting his first head coaching opportunity.
Joining Bowling Green before the 2010-11 season, Bergeron spent nine seasons with the program before heading back to the RedHawks to lead the team.
As Bergeron makes the jump to the AHL, this will be the first time he assumes a coaching role at the pro level. Over his two plus decades at the NCAA level, Bergeron has proven to be a solid coach and should carry that over to the Monsters in 2024-25.
