Cieran Slicker wanted by Killie & two more Scots clubs after Hibs end interest

CIERAN SLICKER could still end up in Scotland – with Ross County and Partick now weighing up moves for the Scotland Under-21s keeper. 

Slicker, who came through the ranks at Manchester City, joined Ipswich a year ago and was back-up to Vaclav Hladky as they won promotion to the Premier League. 

But it’s believed Tractor Boys boss Kieran McKenna wants him to get a season of matches under his belt this term. 

SunSport told earlier this month that Hibs and Kilmarnock were keen on the Scotland Under-21s goalie. 

New Easter Road boss David Gray made Josef Bursik his first summer signing on Monday after sealing a loan deal from Belgian champions Club Brugge. 

Killie are still on the hunt for a replacement for Will Dennis – who has returned to parent club Bournemouth – and it’s believed Slicker remains one of a number of options being considered by the Rugby Park side. 

But it’s thought County and Thistle are among other clubs vying for the 21-year-old. 

Newly installed Dingwall gaffer Don Cowie is working on his squad after guiding them to safety in the Premiership relegation play-off. 

He is searching for competition for Ross Laidlaw after George Wickens headed back to Fulham but may not be able to offer the regular game-time Slicker is after. 

Kris Doolan’s Jags lost out in the semi-finals of the promotion play-offs and also need a keeper for their coming Championship campaign after Jamie Sneddon left at the end of the campaign.  

David Mitchell has re-signed for another 12 months but Mason McCready is set to be farmed out on loan again after spells at Gretna 2008 and Spartans last term. 

The Portman Road side are thought to see Scotland as a good option for Slicker, who has won 13 caps for Scot Gemmill’s Under-21s.
