Colourstrology: what is your Chinese zodiac sign’s lucky colour for 2024?
Once we have assessed the elements that are abundant and those that may be missing or weak, we can turn to harmonising and balancing, and boosting luck. First, we look at where the strongest energy is located within a residential or commercial property. The 2024 feng shui chart – also called the Paht Chee chart – indicates an elemental imbalance that can be corrected by wearing the most suitable colours for attracting good fortune.
Red has always been considered a lucky colour in Chinese culture, as it vibrates naturally with our own life force, or chi. Some find wearing red difficult or too obvious. However, as we are entering a new and vibrant 20-year feng shui cycle of fire, consider accessorising with red – from wearing a scarf or tie, or choosing a red wallet, bag, luggage or office accessories.
After assessing the generic astrological signs as to their elemental content, here are my recommendations for each sign.
Year of the Rat
The Rat’s natural element is water, which is severely lacking – to enhance your luck, wear yellow, browns, blue or black. To mitigate competition and get ahead in your career, wear green or red when negotiating and in meetings.
Year of the Ox
The Ox’s natural element is earth, which is considered excessive, making for a busy and competitive year. To balance the energy, wear sage green and shades of grey. If you want to get noticed and step into the limelight, wear red or orange.
Year of the Tiger
The Tiger’s natural element is wood, which is considered in abundance, potentially creating feelings of overwhelm. If you find this to be the case, you can choose to wear blue, black, turquoise or aquamarine. Doing so will boost your creativity and help you to be heard by those in positions of power.
Year of the Rabbit
The Rabbit’s natural element is also wood, and as both the elements of wood and earth are strong, your health may not be as strong as you would like. You may encounter obstacles, resulting in feeling trapped or stuck in a rut. Wear pale blue, pale green or lemon.
Year of the Dragon
The Dragon’s natural element is earth, however 2024 is a Wood Dragon year, making you the star of the year when you step onto the stage to be seen and heard, and to make breakthroughs in your life. To balance and protect your energy, wear coral red, bright yellow, white or gold.
Year of the Snake
The Snake’s natural element is fire, which is considered strong as we enter Period 9 in feng shui, making for a year of self-improvement and excellent career luck. To steer things your way, wear bright yellow, purple, white or gold.
Year of the Horse
The Horse’s natural element is fire – which will be even stronger than it is for the Snake, being the yang version of fire. This makes 2024 a rather a challenging year, with an excess of competition in both the personal and professional spheres. To harmonise with the fire, wear yellow, orange or brown.
Year of the Goat
The Goat’s natural element is earth, which as for the Ox, is strong. To harmonise and reduce pressure, consider wearing turquoise, purple, orange or grey.
Year of the Monkey
The Monkey’s natural element is metal, which is well represented in the year’s chart – meaning it is not too strong or weak. To maintain equilibrium and make the most of the year ahead, wear white, orange or lemon.
Year of the Rooster
The Rooster’s natural element is the same as the Monkey’s: metal. To enhance the prospect for smooth progress and well-deserved recognition, consider wearing sea blue, raffia, straw yellow or orange.
Year of the Dog
The Dog’s natural element of earth is shared by its foe, the Dragon, making this a challenging year. To overcome impulsiveness and prevent wealth loss, consider wearing white, gold, orange or peach.
Year of the Pig
The Pig’s natural element, like that of the Rat, is water, which is lacking in the chart of 2024. To draw on the easily available luck that exists, choose to wear yellow, lavender or pale blue.
