Dior Leans Into The Bridgerton Effect For New Cruise Show | ELLE
The next Dior Cruise collection is set to debut in an actual castle, hinting at the styles set to hit the runway on June 3, 2024.
Designed by Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior’s Cruise 2025 could nod to the regality of its setting — the perfectly manicured gardens of Drummond Castle in Scotland.
Dior called the gardens a “historic architectural treasure”, mirroring the French maison’s own trailblazing silhouettes, dating back to the ‘New Look’ of the 1940s.
Dior cited the Cruise 2025 runway as “A poetic invitation where past and future meet, celebrating the unique, powerful ties forged from the very beginnings of the House, for the autumn-winter 1947 défilé.” Founding couturier Christian Dior reportedly drew inspiration from Scottish styles for designs which he dubbed Écosse — ‘Scotland’ in French.
The maison confirms the new Cruise show “will spotlight more than ever” the “beauty of journeys and cultures” between Dior and Scotland.
Drummond Castle dates back the the 15th century, with the gardens being established in the 17th century.
A Scottish setting for Dior’s latest suggests the collection could echo styles from the Regency period, recently taking spotlight in the popular imagination thanks to Netflix’s Bridgerton.
Dior Cruise ’25 will take place on June 3 local time, which will be June 4 in Australia.
