Elliott spent last season working for Miami (Ohio) as an assistant coach.
A product of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Elliott enjoyed a brief career that saw him suit up for the Cumberland Grads (CCHL) and Saint Mary’s University (NCAA D-III). In four seasons with the Cardinals, he scored 10 goals and added 12 assists for 22 points in 62 career games.
After retiring in 2016, Elliott was out of the game for a year before joining the Texas Jr. Brahmas (NA3HL) as an assistant coach. After one season in that role, Elliott returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach.
Following another four years at Saint Mary’s in the same role, Elliott was named director of hockey operations for the RedHawks before the 2022-23 season. Elliott would spend the season in that position before moving behind the bench in 2023-24.
As he joins the Wings, Elliott will be making the jump to coaching pro hockey for the first time. Although he may only be 33, Elliott has progressed quickly through the hockey world and will be one to watch this season and beyond.
