Edinburgh Lidl announces in-store comedy experience with Scottish ‘legend’

We’ve all been to some pretty unique venues during the Fringe, though getting the weekly shop done while enjoying a comedy show is a new one for most.

If that sounds like your thing, you’re in luck. Lidl has announced their first in-store comedy show, with one of Scotland’s ‘legends’.

Their Meadowbank store will be treating shoppers to an exclusive show from much-loved character Gary: Tank Commander. The show will be on from August 3-6, promising to “add 100 per cent more laughs to your weekly shop”.

Gary will be swapping the barracks for the middle aisle, offering up a side-splitting monologue of his shopping mission between 10am and 8pm each day.

Known for his Bafta-winning BBC sitcom, Scottish actor and writer Greg McHugh says the show will offer his take on the trials, tribulations and “wee quirks” of going to the supermarket.
